Pat’s journey with Mai-Wel is a story of determination and passion. It all began in high school when Pat undertook work experience through St Mary’s in Maitland. After finishing school, he joined Mai-Wel full-time in 2004 and has been achieving incredible things ever since.
Starting out stocking and loading timber on saws and drills, Pat also worked towards earning his forklift license in his first year. Over time, his favourite tasks came to include driving the forklift, metalwork, and creating unique projects like furniture and even the Santa mailbox.
Eight years ago, Pat discovered his love for cooking and began preparing meals for groups. In 2024, he built on this passion with work experience at VOCO Kirkton Park and Club Maitland City. Through these placements, Pat gained skills in food handling, hygiene, allergy management, and food safety.
Looking ahead, Pat dreams of owning a food truck to serve delicious meals at community events—a goal we know he’ll achieve with his determination and talent.
Pat’s journey highlights the opportunities available at Mai-Wel to explore new passions, build skills, and work towards personal goals in a supportive environment.
Congratulations, Pat! We can’t wait to see you serving up meals from your very own food truck.
