Mai-Wel Named Finalist in the 2026 Singleton Business Awards

A meaningful recognition for Mai-Wel in Singleton

Mai-Wel has been named a finalist in the Outstanding Not-for-Profit Organisation category at the 2026 Singleton Business Awards, delivered by Business Singleton. It is a meaningful recognition that reflects the work being done every day by the local Singleton team and Mai-Wel’s growing presence in the region.

A growing presence in Singleton

Mai-Wel’s Singleton site opened late last year and was officially launched earlier in 2026, marking an important step in expanding disability supports and employment services to the Singleton community. From the site, Mai-Wel supports locals who are looking for the right support to pursue their goals, find work or live more independently.

The response from the Singleton community has been genuinely warm, and being recognised as a finalist in the Singleton Business Awards so early in the journey speaks to the connection the team has already built with local people and organisations.

The people behind the recognition

This recognition belongs to the Singleton team. Their commitment to the people they support, and to showing up consistently for the local community, is what this acknowledgement is really about. Building trust in a new area takes time and genuine effort, and this team has done exactly that.

About Mai-Wel and what comes next

For those new to Mai-Wel, the organisation has been delivering disability supports, employment services and social enterprises across the Hunter region for more than 65 years. With sites throughout the region, Mai-Wel supports thousands of people each year to find work, build skills and live the life they choose.

Being named a finalist in the 2026 Singleton Business Awards is something the whole team can feel good about. Winners will be announced at the Gala Presentation Dinner on 4 July at the Singleton Civic Centre.
