Mai-Wel welcomes new CEO John Cleary

Mai-Wel has been connecting people with possibilities for over 60 years. As we continue to embark on our journey to providing supports and services to young people and people with disability, we are excited to announce a new leadership era as 2023 comes to a close and we look forward and plan for 2024.

Mai-Wel is delighted to announce that amongst a strong field of applicants, John Cleary has been appointed as Mai-Wel’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

John is incredibly passionate to support the must vulnerable in our community. John has had an extensive career in the not-for-profit sector, working as CEO and Executive across the disability, aged care and education sector. John brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Mai-Wel.

Another leadership announcement includes a congratulations to Felicity Laczina (Chief of Corporate Services, The Mutual Bank) as she has been appointed Chair of the Mai-Wel Board.

“Firstly, we would like to thank the outgoing CEO Lynne Graham for her tremendous contribution to Mai-Wel over the past five years. Lynne’s commitment to the organisation and the people supported were second to none. Her leadership led Mai-Wel through a time like no other, which included but not limited to fires, floods and a pandemic,” said Felicity, Chair of the Mai-Wel Board.

“The Mai-Wel reputation attracted a large pool of accomplished leaders to apply for this position, however thanks to the Hunter Recruitment Group, we are excited to welcome John Cleary. Not only for his extensive experience in the sector, but his drive and passion to help those without a voice to be heard.”

Mai-Wel is full of possible as it goes into its 64th year of operation, providing innovative employment solutions and disability services.
