Santa’s Postbox Brings Christmas Cheer to the Maitland Levee

Christmas 2024 is set to be magical at the Maitland Levee, and Mai-Wel is proud to play a role

in bringing the festive spirit to life. A highlight of this year’s celebrations is Santa’s Postbox, a colourful installation where children can drop off their letters to Santa, lovingly crafted by Mai-Wel participants.

The project began with the skilled team at Mai-Wel Enterprises, who carefully constructed the postbox. Once complete, it was handed over to the creative minds in Mai-Wel’s Social, Community, and Creative Pathways (SCCP) program, where artist Michelle and her team transformed it into a vibrant masterpiece, brimming with holiday cheer.

Participants from Mai-Wel Academy joined the unveiling of the postbox in front of Santa’s house on the Levee, celebrating their collaborative effort in this wonderful community project.

Mai-Wel is thrilled to have partnered with Maitland City Council on this initiative. David Graham, The Levee Public Programs Officer, was instrumental in coordinating this opportunity, which showcased the talents and abilities of Mai-Wel participants while spreading joy across the community.

Santa’s Postbox is now officially open at the Maitland Levee – a must-see stop for families this holiday season!

Stay tuned for more updates on our creative projects and community collaborations.
