Outstanding Term Wraps Up the Mini Woolies Program in 2025
Celebrating an Outstanding Term of Retail Skills Training in 2025
Mai-Wel’s Mini Woolies Program has wrapped up an outstanding term to end 2025, with participants completing a strong period of retail skills training in a supportive, hands-on learning environment.
Throughout the term, participants Alex, Kye, Tristian, Cassie, Claire, Mia, Will, Caylan and Sean built confidence while taking part in practical retail skills training designed to prepare them for customer-facing roles and real workplace expectations.
Building retail skills training through hands-on learning
Over the course of the term, participants focused on developing essential workplace capabilities through structured retail skills training, including money management, customer service, communication, store presentation, and using Point-of-Sale systems. These practical skills support workplace readiness and confidence in real-world retail settings.
The program also supports participants to work towards nationally recognised skill set certifications in:
-
Communicating in the workplace to support team and customer outcomes
-
Organising and maintaining the store environment
-
Receiving and handling retail stock
-
Completing financial transactions
Together, these units provide a strong foundation for continued employment skills development.
Learning together and growing in confidence
With expert teaching from Jess at Atwea College, and dedicated on-the-ground support from Kristal and Dani, participants thrived throughout the term. The group formed strong connections, supporting one another as they progressed through their retail skills training and demonstrated teamwork, encouragement, and enthusiasm.
Participants shared positive feedback on their experience:
-
“I really like the activities.” Alex
-
“I like doing the prac.” Tristian
-
“I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people.” Caylan
-
“I like learning more skills.” Mia
Their positivity was evident each day, with growing confidence as participants took on new challenges and responsibilities.
Celebrating an outstanding end to the year
The group worked together seamlessly, uplifting one another as they progressed toward their goals. We are incredibly proud of what participants achieved during this outstanding term of retail skills training and look forward to celebrating their success at the end-of-term celebration day.
Well done to everyone involved in making this a strong conclusion to 2025.
