Staff Spotlight: Casey – Lead Support Worker, Mai-Wel Academy
As the Lead Support Worker for Mai-Wel Maitland Academy, Casey finds many rewarding aspects within the role. Casey is passionate about being part of a team that evolves and empowers, contributing to a culture that promotes learning, encouragement, and meaningful impact in participants’ lives.
Recently, Thrive Scents, a Mai-Wel Academy program, ramped up production for Mother’s Day. Casey enjoyed helping choose the candle scents for this special occasion, finding it both fun and fulfilling to research and select scents that mums will love.
One surprising lesson Casey has learned through work at Mai-Wel is the importance of focusing on the small things. Celebrating small wins has a significant effect on morale and confidence.
If Casey could have any superpower for a day, it would be the power to read minds, to better understand and support those who might be struggling.
