Library Book Delivery with Maitland Library: Connecting Communities One Book at a Time
A partnership that connects people and communities
Each week, supported employees from Mai-Wel Enterprises take part in more than just a delivery service, they deliver connection, purpose, and joy.
Through a valued partnership with Maitland Library, our team proudly supports the Library Run Service, where pre-packed bags of books are collected and delivered to local residents who may not be able to visit the library themselves. This includes aged care facilities and individuals living independently at home.
This inclusive library outreach program helps bring the joy of reading directly into the homes of those who might otherwise face barriers to accessing books and other library resources.
Building skills, confidence and community
Accompanied by a support worker, supported employees follow a set schedule to ensure each delivery is completed with care and consistency. But it’s about more than punctuality, every delivery is made with a warm smile and a sense of community spirit.
The library book delivery service provides meaningful employment and promotes valuable learning opportunities, helping supported employees to:
- Practice route planning and time management
- Strengthen communication and customer service skills
- Build independence and workplace responsibility
- Contribute to a service that makes a real difference
Many of the recipients enjoy having a friendly face deliver their weekly book and appreciate the reminder that they’re still connected to their community.
Library book delivery with a big impact
This library book delivery service keeps readers connected to their favourite stories while promoting community inclusion for all involved.
Our employees feel proud to contribute to something that brings joy, learning, and connection to others, and in doing so, they build confidence, purpose, and valuable work skills. Every delivery is a step forward in personal and professional growth.
At Mai-Wel Enterprises, we’re proud to support inclusive initiatives that build skills, foster connection, and bring the joy of reading to those who need it most.
