Music & Creativity Shine at Mai-Wel’s ‘Let’s Make Music’ Group
Participants from Mai-Wel’s Social Community & Creative Pathways program recently wrapped up an exciting 7-week project, creating their very own wind chimes! The ‘Let’s Make Music’ group, held weekly at John St, Telarah, combined participants’ creativity, fine motor skills, and even a bit of science to craft beautiful wind chimes, with some of the creations given as Father’s Day gifts.
This activity wasn’t just about making a musical instrument—it was a journey of learning and accomplishment. By building their wind chimes, participants explored various skills such as pitch, coordination, and even scientific understanding, all while fostering a sense of pride and confidence.
“I love it, it sounds pretty!” shared participant Jenna, while Emma added, “I want to give it to my dad for Father’s Day.” These sentiments highlight the joy and value the group found in creating something personal and meaningful.
Looking ahead, the participants are eager to explore more musical activities, including a Drum Circle, Sound Healing, and making their own Clap Sticks and Christmas Bells. The ‘Let’s Make Music’ group continues to be an important space for participants to express their creativity and grow their skills in a supportive environment.
Stay tuned for more exciting projects and musical creations from our talented participants! 🎶
