The Hill is Mai-Wel’s Community Centre where participants learn to develop their skills, acheive their goals and participate as an active member of the community.
The Hill is a purpose-built centre for people with a disability, with moderate to high support needs, to enjoy lifestyle and leisure day services and activities of their choosing.
The Hill offers a wide range of centre-based and community-based activities in on-to-one or small group settings, flexible to meet the interests and needs of participants. Just some of the activities available include;
- volunteering in the community,
- sensory and pampering activities,
- and more, just ask!
Participants of The Hill are encouraged to learn about and exercise their rights and responsibilities to choice and control by choosing the activities they wish to participate in.
Each of the activities are fun and engaging, while foster individual skill development and relationship development, assisting participants to achieve their goals and participate as valued and active members of the community.
The Hill’s regular supports are available between Monday and Friday. Additional support services may be available on request.
In early 2020, some of The Hill participants and staff spent the day at Maitland Show.
