Peter and his father actually recorded the album back in 2000 at Aka Chant Studios, Kurri Kurri, and it features many prominent local artists and musicians. With the support of Mai-Wel Creative Arts in Maitland, the album has been re-released to bring it up to date in the digital age.
Their writing partnership came from the shared experience of losing a wife and a mother. In 2000 Peter was already writing songs and after reading some of George’s poetry he was encouraged to write with a production in mind. Once the songs had been written the duo approached Aka Chant Studios, who gathered local musicians and artists for the recordings.
Peter’s re-release of ‘Wells Country Collection’ acts as a tribute to both his late father George and his mother Robin.
“I want to thank all those involved in getting this album to where it is now. I’m sure others can relate to the songs as we all go through the same,” says Peter.
The album covers topics such as the loss of loved ones, the struggles of daily living, heartbreak and love. Peter has produced two videos for the album which are available on YouTube and Spotify. Click here to watch ‘Little Girl’ and here to watch ‘Use By Day’.
Wells Country Collection is now available to stream and purchase via all general platforms. You can check out his single releases on YouTube here:
