Cheyenne breaks into the Real Estate industry with help from MWLFS Transition to Work

Cheyenne commenced Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions’ (MWLFS) Transition to Work (TtW) program in 2020 when her employment hours were reduced due to COVID-19.

With TtW, Cheyenne met with a Youth Support Mentor, who worked with her to identify  her employment goals. When Cheyenne expressed an interest in working in the Real Estate industry, her Youth Support Mentor liaised with Mai-Wel’s Business Development Team who connected Cheyenne with CSBM Real Estate.

CSBM Real Estate interviewed Cheyenne for a Traineeship in Property Services and she was successfully picked for the role! Cheyenne now works as a full-time Trainee for the family-owned business. Part of her traineeship includes undertaking her Certificate IV in Property Services. Mai-Wel’s Post Placement Support team maintain regular contact with both Cheyenne and her employer to ensure that both parties are supported while Cheyenne settles into her new role.

In the future, Cheyenne looks forward to being eligible for her Real Estate license within the next two years.

Cheyenne receives employment support from MWLFS’ TtW employment program for young people aged 15 – 24 years who live in Maitland, Cessnock and Kurri Kurri. Through TtW, Cheyenne was supported from start to finish by the team to find employment, with the combined efforts of her Youth Support Mentor, the Business Development Team and Post-Placement Support team working together and with Cheyenne to meet her employment goals and find a meaningful career path.

For more information about the opportunities TtW can provide, head the MWLFS website or give the team a call on (02) 4015 8400.
