Rebecca’s Building Capacity for Work with MWLFS

Meet Rebecca, one of Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions’ (MWLFS) job seekers who has been building her capacity for work with in-home supports every Wednesday and via Zoom during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Rebecca has successfully completed a Foundation Skills Course with TAFE NSW online using the platform OTEN. This was particularly impressive as Rebecca completed the entire course during lockdown at home and via Zoom over three months, proving her dedication and willingness to learn despite the challenges.

During the course, Rebecca worked on developing and building a number of important skills to help her in the world of work. These included refreshing her language, literacy and numeracy skills, learning how to complete workplace forms, measurements, resume writing and preparing cover letters (just to name a few).

Now Rebecca is ready to tackle a second course which will provide her with a Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways. Rebecca is enjoying the new course, and is utilising her laptop at home to create her resume and other tasks preparing for the world of work.

Congratulations and good luck Rebecca!
