Getting fit IS a walk in the park with Mai-Wel on Vincent!

At Cessnock’s Mai-Wel on Vincent, the participants have been going out and getting fit as part of the weekly ‘Move Fit’ program!

Move Fit activites are held both at Mai-Wel on Vincent and at various locations in the Cessnock Community, depending on the session plan. This time Jessica, Hunter and Thomas got to head out with their support worker to the park at East Cessnock, getting active on the outdoor gym equipment available and the playground.

The Move Fit program provides simple daily routines, exercise, healthy eating options, education and self-awareness to assist participants to become more motivated and achieve overall health for everyday life. Getting out to the park to get some exercise, learn about fitness and access the community, is a fantastic day out for Jessica, Hunter and Thomas and most importantly, they all had lots of fun!

With the Move Fit group, there is a different activity to take part in each week, making it easier and more fun to keep fit both physically and mentally.

Move Fit is just one of the many programs available to take part in at Mai-Wel on Vincent that are both fun and aimed at building skills for health, independence and/or work readiness.
