New qualifications are opening doors into the labour market for Nazri

Meet Nazri, a job seeker from Mai-Wel’s Disability Employment Services (DES) in Cessnock who has recently completed his Certificate III in Warehousing, opening the door to a number of employment opportunities.

With DES, Nazri was encouraged to enrol in a Certificate III in Warehousing, through which he was able to gain a number of other certifications including a Forklift licence, working in confined spaces, working at heights and his White Card.

Already, Nazri is seeing the benefits of his hard work.

“Having these qualifications provide me so much more opportunity in the labour market; it opens the doors to so many more jobs!”

Nazri says his case manager was a source of great support in acquiring new skills and certification.

“My case manager is very helpful. They provided retraining/reskilling options to get me where I am today.”

Nazri has been referred for a suitable position that will require the use of his Forklift Licence and will be partaking in an interview for the job very soon.

“In the future, I want to be working, earning a stable income, fishing and hopefully be able to buy my own house one day,” says Nazri.

Good luck Nazri!
