Michelle’s painting the lockdown away!

During lockdown, Mai-Wel Lifestyle, Leisure and Capacity building supports in Cessnock, Work Life Connect, went online.

This helped Michelle to continue focusing on her drawing and painting skills throughout the lockdown period, working towards her future art goals.

She has been using her online Zoom sessions with Creative Arts Mentor Kate to continue this practice, improving her art skills, learning new techniques and keeping her mind active from the comfort of home.

“I find online supports relaxing,” says Michelle, “It gets you away from everything that’s going on.”

Each week Michelle attended both 1:1 and group online creative arts sessions to pack in as much creativity throughout her week as possible!

Water scenes and Australian flora and fauna are two subjects that Michelle has a particular interest in. Check out some of her artworks below.

One day in the future Michelle would like to feature her artwork in an exhibition. With her extraordinary talent, we think it won’t take long!
