Welcome to the final Mindfulness Monday art therapy exercise. This week’s activity will be about creating patterns and bringing attention to the process of drawing.
I’d like to invite you to draw a square small square on a piece of paper using any drawing materials. Draw the square freehand instead of using a ruler. It is okay if your square has squiggles or curved edges from your freehand drawing. Fill the square with abstract patterns, shapes, lines and colours. It is important for you to take your time. Between each step that you take look at the colours and marks that you have made and let them guide your next step.
Once you have completed your square you now have a tile. Draw another square next to the one that you have just finished and repeat the process for whoever long that you like.
If you feel any distress, bring your attention to your breath for a minute and notice air going in and out of your body.
This will be the final mindfulness Monday art activity. I hope that it has been a helpful resource for you while being as home and witnessing all this change in our lives.
