Mature job seekers get tech savvy with MWLFS and JobQuest

Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions (MWLFS) has once again teamed up with JobQuest to present a new and exciting program aimed at helping mature job seekers to get tech savvy!

At a time where communication and connection is happening more over the phone and online, the Savvy Seniors Federally Funded Program delivered by JobQuest aims to help older job seekers to gain the understanding and skills to access technology. The program is made possible by funding allocated to help bridge the gap in the older generation’s understanding of technology, to maintain communication with family, receive and respond to emails, job search independently and build overall confidence to use technology.

The training was delivered over a four week period at the MWLFS office, with job seekers attending weekly two hour workshops.

For the duration of the training, JobQuest loaned devices and WIFI dongles to the workshop participants who did not have access to their own devices at home. This proved beneficial with participants who were able to practice and improve their skills outside of the classroom.

Due to the success of the first program, a second was run in August.
