Emily loves being part of the team at Your Discount Chemist

With support from Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions, Emily has successfully gained employment as a store assistant at Your Discount Chemist, where she has worked three afternoons a week since she commenced the role at the end of 2019. Emily’s duties include cleaning, tidying and refilling stock, as well as providing customer service. One of her favourite parts of her role is working alongside her supportive co-workers. Ethan’s Step Up to KFC work experience

Since completing school in 2018, Ethan has been participating in Mai-Wel’s Step Up initiative to develop his employment skills and confidence for working life. With a goal of completing work experience at KFC, Ethan's Step Up supports included centre-based skill building activities, social and communication supports. After a year of hard work, Ethan began work experience at KFC in February 2020, working one morning a week for 12 weeks. Aimie’s Beyond Bank work experience

For six weeks in early 2020, Step Up's Aimie participated in some business administration work experience at Beyond Bank Greenhills. Each Thursday afternoon, Aimie helped out the busy Beyond Bank staff with a variety of administration tasks. Thrive Scents – learning employment skills never smelled so sweet!

In Mai-Wel’s Thrive Scents initiative, participants are able to experience a simulated workplace creating soy candles and melts. Thrive Scents is a centre-based initiative that runs on Tuesday from 9am-12:30pm. During this time, participants are able to experience working in a production line environment that has been developed to simulate a real workplace. Branden’s hard work recognised with educational scholarship

Congratulations to Branden, participant of Mai-Wel's Get Started initiative and recipient of a 2020 Mentor Support Network Educational Scholarship! He was nominated for the Scholarship by Mai-Wel’s School Transitions Lead Support Cath Crowley, for his drive and determination to achieve his educational and career goals. Cameron is making the most of staying home

Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions job seeker Cameron and his case manager have worked hard to identify a suitable career path. He has participated in several activities and programs in order to gain skills and explore possible career pathways. This includes participating in the Pathways workshops at Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutins which included administrative tasks. Natasha’s working and earning despite changes to her regular work
