Social skills that are out of this world!

In this strange, new and restricted world of COVID-19, Life FUNdamentals Cessnock participants have found a way to engage together in a world of their own creation! Taking to the screen and the page, participants have started a Dungeons and Dragons game, which they play together over Zoom. The participants have created characters that have defined personality traits and flaws, their own world view and backgrounds, which the players use to navigate a world designed by the group. Some positive changes and opportunities have come from these times

Although COVID-19 has thrown The Hub Maitland and Cessnock many challenges, it goes without saying that staff  and participants have pulled together and remained positive and energised during this time. Although services have adapted in line with the social standards, and most importantly to ensure the safety and health of staff and participants, it is far from doom and gloom at The Hub! Introducing Gabby

At the start of 2020, before the madness of COVID-19 kicked in, we had the pleasure of interviewing our participant Gabby. She's been with Mai-Wel for 7 years and is kept busy by engaging in various services across the organisation; Life FUNdamentals, Creative Arts, Leisure Links, Get Started and Disability Employment Services with Mai-Wel LabourForce Solutions (MWLFS). Adam’s Room Project is Completed!
